USS Constitution-Visit with Dad & Mom

One of the days Mom & Dad were here we took a few hours in the morning and went over to tour the USS Constitution.

They still take her out on the ocean on the 4th of July to keep her in good shape.
We have now boarded the ship!
Welcome aboard the USS Constitution.
We all took her for a spin.

These are the windows that get opened up to ventilate the deck below.

Which way to go!

While we were in the harbor we decided to stop in at the USS Cassin Young

Hopefully more than one person doesn't get sick or injured at a time because these quarters are not very big.

The navigation room.

Dad getting ready to ward off the enemies.
You might want to get out of the way of my shot.
My Grandpa Paxton fought on a ship just like this in World War II. It was interesting to be able to see where they spend so many months at a time.
Boy did we make this in the nick of time. Not long after we got home it started to pour buckets of rain. Glad we went in the morning and not the afternoon.
