Sarah and I have a friend who lives in New Jersey. Graciela was so kind to let us stay with her at her place. We took the bus into the city each morning. We got the whole experience of riding the bus and the train like a real New Yorker.
On Thursday morning Sarah and I started off our New York adventures at the World Trade Center Memorial.
Here are the new towers that are being built.
I really love this view. I love how you can see so much of the fountain, see the trees and the reflection in the building.
This was a cool motorcycle in the WTC visitor center.
Another view of both towers being built.
New York day walking down the street.
Heading toward Radio City.
We went to the Rockefeller Center and this was a really neat chandler that dangled town a few stories.
View from atop the Rockefeller Center.
The ceiling in the hotel side of the Rockefeller Center.
Almost got the whole building in there. But it is so tall I couldn't get it all in from the angle I was at so the rest of the picture is below.
Ice skating at the Rockefeller Center.
Lego Land they do some really cool things with all the legos.
Sarah and I were starving for some lunch and we thought we want something cheap. We see this diner and decided to go in. When we walk in the door it wasn't what we expected a diner to look like on the inside. It had a host who was dressed in a tux. The tables had white clothes over them and it was to fancy for a diner. We sit down and look at the menu and everything is $20+. We order red velvet chicken. It was really good but way to expensive. But I guess worth the experience.
Here is the bill for chicken waffles. Not what you would have expected for a diner.
Then we walk back outside and see in little writing to the side the finer diner.
I guess the joke was on us.
After lunch we took a stroll through Central Park.
Really awesome looking building from Central Park.
We saw this guy in the park telling jokes for a $1. As we walked past he didn't see to funny. But he was cute so all the girls were congregated around him.
A little further down the path we ran into this kid who made all of these animals out of leafs I can't remember exactly what kind but maybe bamboo leafs. His mom taught him how to do these. The animals are really flexible and you can bend them and they don't break.
Look hard at this picture what do you see?
Yup, you got it right.
There is a man who blew a gigantic bubble.
Sarah listening to Hans Christian Anderson read stories.
This was a really cool building with trees growing on each level.
Another day we went to the Empire State Building.
View from the top of the Empire State Building.
Pretty flowers on our through the city at night.
Central Station
I liked the flag with the reflection in the building.
Inside of Central Station
Time Square
This is some of what you see in Time Square. He was just walking through flexing his pecs. There was also the Naked Cowboy that we saw. He was just wearing his cowboy hat and some underwear and his guitar.
