Phoenix Part 1

In March I had the opportunity to travel to Arizona for the first time, outside of just driving on the road as you pass through to Nevada. I went to Phoenix and stayed with my friend Daniel Nelson. While I was there I had the opportunity to spend time with my sister Elizabeth and her family.

My first day there I got together with my sister and her kids and Daniel and his sister and her kids. We all went to a little park and Kaden my nephew and Daniel's nephew were friends right off the bat. They were so cute to watch them play together.
I loved the purple cactuses.
A duck just hanging out on the railing of a bridge.
This pond had so many turtles. I have never seen this many in the wild in one place before.

I entertained Kaden and Mason while Elizabeth was doing some shopping at Target.
Mason has such a cute little smile.
Look at those handsome boys.

Elizabeth, the boys and I went to RawHide a western town.
Kaden with the cowboys.
Kaden got to ride a donkey.
I think these huge cactuses are really awesome.
Kaden the miner.
We got to go on a stage coach ride. Kaden and Elizabeth got to ride up top and Mason and I road inside where it was a little warmer. You wouldn't think Phoenix would be cold but this night it was very chilly.
Kaden got to pan for gold and turn them in for treasure (candies).
We watched a show about Doc Holiday and
kaden got their autographs and a picture with the actors.
We watched a Lady and her Husband do tricks with a horse and a little pony.

Kaden was so excited to pet the little pony.
He loved the petting farm. That is another little pony and he always had to get confirmation form the cowboy to make sure he could pet each one.
It was so adorable.
Kaden had to pet everything and the cowboy was so patient in helping him get close enough to each animal for him to pet.

Kaden is so cute. When we would sit down for lunch he always wanted to say a prayer and he had to be the one to say it. It was fun to listen to his little prayers.
One day we took a drive out to Apache Junction and we drove on the Apache Trail.

It was fun to see the area and to see more than just the city.
Scenic leisure drives are some of the best.

This cactus made me laugh, it looks like arms and a really big nose.

We stopped off in Apache Junction and visited the Janich family that are living there.
Kathy, Uncle Bud, Me, Aunt Hat, Susie

Kaden, Me, Mason, Elizabeth
We had such a fun visit. It had been a long time since we saw them and it was good to catch up.
Me and Mason
He is such a good little baby. I really miss being closer to spend more time with them.
Daniel and Me
It was so great of Daniel to let me crash at his house. He has the most comfortable couch I have ever sat or slept on. Absolutely incredible.

Dear Martha,

Sorry to bother you. My name is Charlotte Hsu and I run a small news site (http://buffalostoryproject.com) where I'm writing about the Hill Cumorah Pageant. The pageant organizers have provided some nice photographs, but I am looking for others. I wondered if it would be OK if I pulled some of your photos from this blog post: http://marthasmarvelousmemoirs.blogspot.com/2010/07/hill-cumorah-pageant.html

If so, please let me know how they should be credited.

Thanks!
