4th of July activities

My friend Graciella from New Jersey drove up when she got off work on Saturday night. Graciella, Denise, and I went to church Sunday morning and after wards we took a drive to the Boston Temple. Graciella was really hopeing to have the chance to go to the Temple when she came but it is closed for the two week semi-annual cleaning. We just walked around the grounds and enjoyed our time there.
It was a beautiful day, HOT but beautiful!

Lovelly flowers
These are the coolest flowers they grow on little trees and they remind me of bells because they hang upside down.
This was an intersesting tree. It has grown into an arch.

We went home had some dinner and prepared for the remainder of events for the evening.
Looking out over the Charles River from the Longfellow Bridge aka Salt and Pepper Bridge
If you look real close along the bank of the river you can see people lots and lots of people. They estimated 800,000 people to come out for the fireworks this year. Last year they have 500,000.
Lots of boats on the river waiting for the fireworks. I do have to admit I think they have a pretty good view.

Graciella view eyed. I took the first picture and she closed her eyes so she made sure they were not closed the second time.
A rainbow in the sky. Back to the Salt and Pepper bridge. It has this name because people think the pillars which you see in the back ground on the left look like Salt and Pepper shakers. There is a set on each side of the bridge.
I love watching the sky turn colors as the sun is setting.
Rob and Joe decided to have a lightsaber war. It was quite entertaining and was amuzing for many spectators on the bridge.
It is cool the effect the light has when you are taking a picture of it moving.
Two sailors were walking across the bridge and Rob went up to them and asked them if one of them would have a lightsaber fight with him. Rob was way more into it than the sailor was. It was fun to watch so I recorded it. Rob told him you have to make the sound effects. So Rob ran around making sound effects and the Sailor not so much.
And on to the fireworks what we had all been waiting for all night. It lasted about 30 minutes. The Boston Pops played music which had been corrigraphed to the fireworks.
Sorry I didn't realize I was recording and I already had the camera turned sideways. But these were the coolest fireworks. It is hard to see them but they looked like little jellyfish that were swimming up into the sky. They were much cooler in real life.
The Famous Chadeler Fireworks.
I liked this because of all the colors.
These looked like planets they had the solar rings around them. It was pretty cool they planet shape was one color and the ring another.
On to the Finaly of the fireworks.
I was able to get most of the finaly recorded. We had a fun evening and enjoyed keeping each other entertained. I am so greatful for the freedom we have in our country. I am grateful for those who have fought and are fighting and who will fight to keep us free and give us the freedom we enjoy. So many have and will put for so much sacrafice so that we may enjoy the things we take for granted every day. Thank you to all who have made life in the Great US of A so wonderful.
